Prison Break on Rewatch

 I remember being on my second year of high school and discovering the first season of Prison Break in French during Ramadan, as part of the night program after breaking the fast.

I remember not one giving a fuck about it around me.

I remember following it with intent and poise, not in my fanatic way yet with consistent attention.

I remember three years later, in prep school, where not only did Prison Break blow, but plenty of students would try to personify the main characters and one of them legit was embodying Michael Schofield.

I remember talking about how the show spoke broadly and yet still falsely about Hook's Law and Tensile Strength. At least don't make the structural engineer speak about the topic; ma dudes, even when you gave keywords to hint to technical calculations, you still manage to get it wrong.

Anyway, lately I was catching up with a friend and she mentioned sleeping to Prison Break reruns and last night, my friend was taking some time killing (or rather cheesing) bosses, so I remembered Prison Break existed and decided to rewatch.

I still love that show and to be honest, I like how poised and attentive I am during the process of watching this one.

I'm not too sure whether I would give the season 5 a try. Season 4 was already too much of a push for the old fan I am.

But let's see.

I also fucked up my sleeping schedule in the process, which is shit to start with. But then I have to wake up at 7h00 in the next days.

Just when I gave up caffeine addiction, I will be going back at it to nurse the 7h00 a.m. shock.

Well, at least, I got some resting done during this vacation.

I made some Tagines this December :D

 Goddamn I nailed it.

And S. nailed the desserts! They are so good I'm not feeling guilty despite the rancid flesh and the sluggishness and the lack of motion.

Demon's Souls is Over ;_;

 After almost two months of believing in the soul of the cards, cultivating the Chi, unlocking the Nen, ascending Chakra, showing resilience, entering in covenant with beasts and delaying peepee and caca to watch the goddamn player at work, N. has finally reached the end of Demon's Souls.

And it was every bit satisfying as I was expecting it to be :D! What a fucking ride man, what a goddamn fucking ride.

About Christmas

 My first Latino Christmas and one of the highlights of the year.

I forgot what it felt like to be included in a group of people without discomfort or lectures request.

I also forgot how it was when someone was too ashamed to mention me, or even introduce me, to their family circle.

Finally, I forgot what it was that hugs were, and how it felt when someone tells you face-to-face they consider you a friend and appreciate you.

Damn, that night played a number on me.

No, actually, being in the place where I am played a goddamn number on me.

This is the first time I have Sonny over on his birthday.

This boy has been MA BOY for as long as I got know him.

Happy days ahead Sonny! You're the best good boy there is and if it weren't for you, I don't know how much harder things would have been, and let's not think about it, it makes me needlessly emotional

Gaming Out, Twitch In

"I have to get my gaming under control. I can't afford to keep up with the addiction with the deadlines I am setting to myself"

"And I won't be about to play ONE GODDAMN GAME until I've made some progress in my dissertation and learnt to balance leisure with PhD."

"So my first trick is to replace gaming with watching streams, this will allow me to have some semblance of coffee shop ambiance and the required noise for me to study and work."

"Then, I shall transition to just fully working and I will get to a point where I won't depend on gaming anymore."

The good news is I stayed by my word and didn't put on any game.

The not-so-good news is that I didn't make any progress.

The bad news is I got another addition now.

It's not all bad though since one of my homies got a PS5 and he is :

1-Willing to give a From Software game a try.

2-Is basically not acquainted with anything related to the company and their game style whatsoever.

3-Doesn't mind streaming and telling me when he is streaming so I can take it ALL IN.

4-And I fucking enjoy this shit like a football match.

5-Also, always was intimidated by this particular opus in the Souls series and getting to live through my friend vicariously is the next best thing given all my circumstances.

6-Shit keeps me company throughout the dreadful evenings and nights so.

 Cleaned my contacts throughout this election cycle. 

Thanks Donnie, if it weren't for you, so many fuckers wouldn't have come out of the racism and many other -ism closets. You've done well and I've gone through it, oh how others have gone through it.

Now GTFO you and every fucking idiot that at this point believes you in you and your crap.

A Tale of Two Halloweens

Expectation : The one that clearly embraces being a hero and loves it

Reality: The actual hero who is tired of everyone and just piss off this is ridiculous and while you at it, feed more instead of prayers and claps and signs that say "We love essential workers here"

Throwing it out there: replace people halloween parties with dog halloween parties.

Horror Catch Up

 Finally some downtime to catch up on some great productions

Horror-Thriller edition.

I don't know how I missed Searching.

Also, horror productions are getting weaker, I'm having trouble finding something that would genuinely get my adrenaline going.

As usual, the Asian creations still got IT

That was a great reversed gender role assassin sci-fi thriller :D

Again, how did I miss this one is beyond me! Clever set up, tense investigation and amazing performance

Twitch Finds

 Switched to Twitch to stop the videogaming mania.

They have some good tunes.

Got Back in time for the finale

 

I had to actively stop myself from checking the book for spoilers. The pacing is great but goddamn the cliffhangers are actual cliffhangers!

This was interesting enough for one run and now, I don't know what to watch with my buddies on Sunday 

Pathetic Excuse of Vacation Achievement Unlocked

 Third time is the charm, they say.

But by this reading, I was still crying and unable to absorb everything and ended up putting post-its to go back and meditate on events, sentences, inspiration, work ethics, music and anecdotes.

Only once done, I realized maybe I shouldn't have bothered with the damn post-its after all.

A Brief Interlude

 Very brief, very very very brief.

Too brief maybe (?), maybe shouldn't have bothered.

But then, it's been a while since I finished a book within two days and got to walk in beautiful spaces so ok.

This dance

 Watching few new anime this season with friends.

Jujutsu has been a fun time in particular, and not gonna lie, the ending is AWESOME!

At this point, any little thing that brings a little bit of relief is welcome even if it's a dorky dance sequence in an anime ending

Starlite Drive-In Movies

 I'm not too sure about the movie drive-in experience, but at least it offers a great alternative to closed movie theaters space.
